The Arduino Compatible Infrared Barrier Sensor is yet another one of those modules with cool possibilities. You could for example, sound an alarm when something got too close or you could change the direction of a robot or vehicle. The device consists of an Infrared Transmitter, an Infrared Detector, and support circuitry. It only requires three connections. When it detects an obstacle within range it will send an output low.

Features:

  • Designed with reflected infrared sensor, indicator light
  • Built in a potentiometer for sensitivity control
  • On-board LM393 voltage comparator chip
  • Support 3.5 / 5.0 V voltage input
  • On-board signal output instructions
  • Signal detection sensitivity can be adjusted
  • Using TCRT5000 infrared reflection sensor

Included with the package:

  • Arduino Compatible Infrared Barrier Sensor x 1

Specifications:

  • Chipset: LM393
  • Operating voltage: 3.5v~5
  • Module Model: TCRT5000
  • Output Channel : 0/1
  • Detect Distance : 1-25mm
  • Focal Distance : 2.5m
  • PCB Size : 32 x 14mm/1.3" x 0.55" (L*W)
  • Weight : 3g

Infrared Barrier Sensor Pin Out:

  • VCC : DC input + (3~5V)
  • GND : DC input -
  • DO : TTL signal
  • AO : Analog output

Infrared Sensor Operation:

  • Power LED: Illuminates when power is applied
  • Obstacle LED: Illuminates when obstacle is detected
  • Distance Adjust: Adjust detection distance with potentiometer. CCW rotation decreases distance/CW rotation increases distance
  • IR Emitter: Infrared emitter LED
  • IR Receiver: Infrared receiver that receives signal transmitted by Infrared emitter
